The Balkan Duo present Gypsy Soul

Central Coast Conservatorium presents Gypsy Soul with the Balkan Duo - a unique musical collaboration between Romanian Gypsy violinist Tinel Dragoi and guitarist/singer Joseph Zarb.  Tinel Dragoi has over 20 years experience as a performer and teacher. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) majoring in violin interpretation from the Conservatorium of Music in Bucharest, Romania and has performed with orchestras around the world. Tinel is very passionate about music and strives for excellence in both his playing and teaching. Josie Zarb is a classical/Flamenco/manouche Guitar player and singer. He is in love with people, life, guitars and violins. Josie has the street level existence worthy of true gypsies and is a faithful rhythm guitar player to Tinel's violin. The duo will play Hungarian, Romanian, and Russian Gypsy music, as well as Balkan folk music and some Gypsy swing jazz.  The audience should expect a virtuosic performance coupled with a traditional feel not often heard but always resonating. This special concert will feature Gypsy music favourites and some of the most moving music ever conceived.
