Inspiration is an awakening, a quickening of our faculties and it is manifested in all high artistic achievements – Giacomo Puccini

Opera Australia star tenor Simon Kim and soprano Michaele Archer join forces to perform love duets from La Boheme, Madame Butterfly and Tosca as well as Puccini show stoppers Nussun dorma, Un bel di vedremo and Vissi d'arte.

Tenor Simon Kim lived and performed for many years in Italy after completing his undergraduate degree in Korea. He has sung leading roles in Europe and Asia and is currently principal tenor with Opera Australia.

Michaele Archer, who has recently returned from concert work in the USA was also a headline artist for Opera in the Arboretum 2017 with David Hobson and Sally Anne Russell.

OperaVita is accompanied by one of Australia's leading repetiteurs Francis Greep who regularly performs at Pearl Beach Opera in the Arboretum, an annual charity event organised by the Rotary Club of Woy Woy.

Joining the singers is Jessica Graham, a classically trained violinist who has ventured into the contemporary arena. With her own label WREN, Jess is an award winning composer and improviser and is currently touring with singer Damien Leith. Interpreting the melodies of Bizet's Carmen on the electric violin, Jess brings a unique flair to the OperaVita experience.

Performed against stunning cinema projection at the Avoca Beach Picture Theatre, this will be an evening of heart-stirring passion.

Live the Opera Life!

Sound track Simon Kim and Michaele Archer sing O Soave Fanciulla from La Boheme by Puccini which they will perform at OperaVita on Friday 24 November.
