Mary-Ellen brings to the Central Coast Conservatorium Board her expertise in law and commercial business management as well as a passion for music. She has a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) degree and Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of New South Wales, a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University, and a Master of Public Law from the Australian National University. She also has an Associate of Music Australia (Piano).
A commercial and property lawyer, commercial manager and project manager, Mary-Ellen is currently the Commercial Manager of Wyong Shire Council’s property portfolio, responsible for overseeing legal and commercial performance, governance and business systems. Before that she was the Commercial Manager for Procurement and Project Management with Wyong Shire Council (2011-13) and in 2013 received the award of NSW Local Government Procurement Professional of the Year for her work in strategic procurement.
Mary-Ellen has extensive experience as a property project manager on major gas and water pipeline projects throughout Australia, and was a legal and commercial manager with AGL (1998-2007). Prior to that Mary-Ellen was a senior associate with top tier law firm King Wood Mallesons (1988–1998).
Mary-Ellen is an amateur classical pianist and received her A Mus A in piano at age 16. She continues to play and perform regularly, and studies at Central Coast Conservatorium with Carl Schmidt.
Mary-Ellen was appointed to the Board of the Central Coast Conservatorium in 2013.
