JP Fleury is a Canadian saxophonist, flautist and clarinettist. He trained at Humber College in Toronto and holds a music diploma from Cegep de Drummondville in Québec. For a decade, JP worked on the luxury cruise line Holland America as a band leader performing a huge range of music - Jazz, Ballroom, Broadway and Classical. JP was a member of Canadian 10 piece band ‘Anagroove’ with whom he performed at the International Montreal Jazz Festival in 2003. He also belonged to the jazz quartet ‘Red Cactus’ who recorded an album of original compositions. The group performed across Montreal including the famous ‘House of Jazz’. From 2011-2013, JP toured around the world as part of the headline duo act ‘The Fleurys’, performing on cruise lines such as Cunard and Crystal with his partner, ABC recording artist, Sally Maer. Now settled on the Central Coast in Copacabana, JP enjoys working for Sydney recording studios as a session musician, performing with ‘The Fleurys’ at the ‘Back to the Tivoli’ shows, and teaching. He is also a licensed Kindermusik teacher and has been teaching pre-school children music since he completed his training in 2013. JP has a passion for teaching music and hopes his performing and travelling experiences can help inspire his students.
