Jazz Guitar Ensemble with Guy Strazz

The JGE plays easy to upper intermediate guitar repertoire. Each session begins with a rhythm and improvisation warm-up. The repertoire provides ample opportunity to practice improvisation within a group environment. The Conservatorium also provides several performance opportunities for this group. Requirements for applicants: you will need a working knowledge of basic jazz chords, being able to read a chord chart and have a feel for swing, funk, and Latin type music. A working knowledge of major and minor scales as well as blues scales is required. Basic sight-reading skill is highly preferable, but if an applicant has well developed playing skills he/she can be incorporated into the group.
Rehearsals: Tuesday on a fortnightly basis from 5.30pm to 7.00pm
Location: D2, CC Con
Director: Guy Strazz
