Learn to play violin with Central Coast Conservatorium of MusicMost of our music lessons happen after school hours but teaching is also available through the day time.
We also run a very popular Saturday Morning Strings program - a graded ensembles program catering for all string players from beginners to advanced. Our Central Coast Chamber Orchestra perform at the Opera in the Arboretum event each year and other string ensembles perform as part of the curriculum at Premier Ensembles Concerts and String Department Concerts.
For students in the Kanwal/Wyong area we run the Lakes Strings Outreach Program. This includes private tuition and ensembles for all string players. Ensembles happen on a Friday evening and lessons are by appointment. The program is run out of Kanwal Public School and the Lakelands Community Centre.
String students can also audition for Central Coast Youth Orchestra - the Conservatorium's flagship ensemble - which performs regularly in the community and in collaboration with other groups such as Central Coast Philharmonia Choir and Central Coast Opera. All these ensembles rehearse at the Gosford Campus.
Central Coast Conservatorium offers violin tuition at a number of schools on the Central Coast: Bateau Bay Public School (Indigenous Scholarship Program), Narara Public School (String Ensembles), Rudolf Steiner (String lessons), Kincumber Public School (String lessons) and St Phillips Christian College (String Ensembles). If you are attending one of these schools, you should speak to your school administration or the music program liaison at the school to enquire about getting into violin lessons through the Conservatorium Schools Instrumental Program.
