Gadd & Shovk draw a crowd19-Feb-2018
On Sunday we had a wonderful concert with Charmian Gadd (violin) and Phillip Shovk (piano). The room was full with a very appreciative audience listening to the wonderful Brahms Scherzo in C Minor, followed by Sonata for Violin and Piano in A Major. The Debussy (Sonata for Violin and Piano in G Minor) showcased the virtuosity of these two performers.
Intermission was a lovely spread provided by Charmian and was much appreciated. After cheese and wine, the audience returned for Beethoven's Sonata in E flate major, Tchaikovsky's two pieces from 'Souvenir d'un lieu cher'. Prokofiev's March followed by two contrasting marches by Kreisler to finish the beautiful program.
We are looking forward to another afternoon of fine music, this Sunday with Georg Pedersen joining the duo on cello for the Brahms Sonata in E Minor.
