Central Coast Conservatorium is the Central Coast’s premiere music education institution with over one thousand students receiving tuition or participating in ensembles on a weekly basis. The Conservatorium will open the doors to the public, at 45 Mann Street Gosford (the Old Courthouse), on Monday 22nd January from 11am to 2pm. This day will include demonstration classes, instrument demonstrations and the opportunity to meet Conservatorium teachers.

Demonstration classes for the Children’s Music Program (CMP) for babies through to primary school aged students will occur between 11am and 2pm. This sequential and developmental program gives children the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of music in a fun and engaging environment. It also aims to assist the children to choose an instrument for one to one study in the future.

CMP classes are all delivered by highly-qualified and specially trained early childhood music teachers. Families interested in joining the Children’s Music Program are welcome to come along to talk to the members of the CMP team, join the classes, and to gain an insight into the group class environment.

Specialist instrumental teachers will be available between 12 and 2pm to talk to students and parents about their instruments. This is an ideal opportunity for new or prospective students to try out a range of musical instruments. Vocal teachers will also be available to assess voice suitability for different styles of singing or choral programs.

Local violin virtuoso, teacher and ex-owner of The Violinery, Charmian Gadd, will be available with Tony Gault (who has over 12 years’ experience repairing and valuing instruments), to assess and value instruments. If you have an old instrument you would like to donate or leave to the Conservatorium, please bring it along and Charmian or Tony will be happy to assess it. There will also be other instrument specialists available to advise on instrument suitability, care and maintenance.

From 5.30 to 6.30pm will be an Information Night for existing and new students, followed by refreshments and discussion time. This is your opportunity to learn all you need to know about the program in 2018.

Let us know the types of questions you want answered, the materials you would like to have available (marketing, auditions, concerts, etc) and the programs you are interested in and we'll tailor the day to your needs:
