DESCRIPTION:Join our patron Charmian Gadd OAM and a distinguished group of friends\, colleagues and emerging artists for a special afternoon of music celebrating the 80th birthday of renowned cellist and educator Georg Pedersen. \nThis celebratory concert showcases the expressive range and enduring beauty of the cello through a rich program spanning the Romantic era and beyond. Featuring outstanding young cellists\, accomplished musicians and a specially assembled string ensemble\, the afternoons highlights will include Elgar’s dramatic Cello Concerto\, Fauré’s deeply lyrical Élégie\, the brilliance of Popper’s Polonaise de Concert\, and a special performance by Georg Pedersen and pianist Phillip Shovk.
