SUMMARY:Phoenix Collective | Bella Italia
DESCRIPTION:Luigi Boccherini – String Quartet op 30 no 4\nGiuseppe Verdi – String Quartet\nGiovanni Sollima – ‘Viaggio in Italia’\n\nPCQ present a program showcasing three different facets of Italy’s rich musical tradition\, ranging from the elegance of virtuoso cellist Boccherini’s early quartet to Verdi’s glorious melodies and concluding with Giovanni Sollima’s nostalgic depictions of Italian life. The rarely played Verdi string quartet was the only chamber work written by the composer\, and its lush operatic style represents Verdi at the peak of his compositional prowess. Extended cello techniques are the common element between the Boccherini and Sollima works\, with each composer featuring the instrument in his own unique style. \nPurchase tickets for this event HERE

SUMMARY:Symphony Central Coast | Prodigies Concerto Competition
DESCRIPTION:The concerto as a vehicle for virtuosic display flourished during the 19th Century\, becoming increasingly complex and ambitious works. While performances of typical concerto in the baroque era lasted about ten minutes\, those by Beethoven\, for example\, could last half an hour or longer. Concertos from all ages\, since their development in late 1600s\, have remained a conspicuous and important part of the repertoire for concert performances and recordings and this concert will feature the four soloists chosen from the Symphony Central Coast Concerto Competition. \nTo celebrate the 100th concert by the University of New South Wales Orchestra\, Joe Wolfe was given a simple brief: write a piece that was 4 or 5 minutes of fun\, using everybody\, and to not take up much rehearsal time. The result\, Circle of Fourths was inspired by the opening notes of the choral Old Hundredth\, (so named because its words are from Psalm 100)\, and a desire to explore the melodic and harmonic possibilities of successive intervals of fourths. \nIn Verdi’s opera Aida\, Radames leads the Egyptian army on its return following the victory over the Ethiopians. Music that reflected triumph\, victory and great joy was needed and Verdi obliged\, giving us the succinctly named Grand March. \n\nDate: 21 September\, 2.30pm\nLocation: Central Coast Grammar School | Performing Arts Centre\nTickets: https://auccgs.sales.ticketsearch.com/sales/salesevent/143346

SUMMARY:Central Coast Philharmonia | Vivaldi Gloria
DESCRIPTION:The Central Coast Philharmonia is proud to present Vivaldi Gloria and other choral masterpieces! \nThe hugely popular Vivaldi Gloria has been described as one of the most incredibly cheerful works ever written! \nVivaldi instructed\, directed and wrote music for the orchestra and choir at the Ospedale della Pietà\, a school for orphaned girls in Venice. Under his teachings\, these women developed a wide reputation for their fine musicianship. No surprise to find we have three beautiful female soloists to listen to in the Vivaldi Gloria! \nIn this performance\, the Central Coast Philharmonia is thrilled to be joined by some members of the AHE (Australian Haydn Ensemble) Alchemy Ensemble. This group is an initiative of the AHE that provides a unique mentoring opportunity for emerging instrumentalists. \nThe choir will also perform other exceptional choral masterpieces including Mozart’s Ave Verum Corpus and Jesu\, Joy of Man’s Desiring by Bach. \nMusical Director and conductor Patrick Brennan brings together the Central Coast Philharmonia\, members of AHE Alchemy and soloists to create this not-to-be-missed concert! \nConcert Details \nDate: Saturday 29 November 2025\nTime: 7:30 PM\nLocation: St John the Baptist Catholic Church – 125 Blackwall Road\, Woy Woy\nTickets: Vivaldi Gloria

SUMMARY:Term 4 Student Concert Series
DESCRIPTION:Our Term 4 Student Concert will be held in the beautiful Robert Knox Hall on the 13th of September at 4:00pm and 6:00pm (subject to registration numbers). \nAbout our Student Concerts\nOur Student Concert Series is an opportunity for Central Coast Conservatorium one-to-one students to perform with an accompanist for an audience of friends and family\, providing a great opportunity to practise for upcoming AMEB exams! \nThis performance opportunity is open to all our one-to-one students\, whether they learn at the Con or in our Schools Program. It provides students of all ages and abilities with the experience of playing their instrument or singing with an accompanist in front of an audience\, while learning tips on performance technique and stagecraft. \nTertiary students can choose to perform in these daytime concerts or the adult soiree. \nWe encourage all our students to take up this excellent opportunity to refine their craft and discover the joy of performing for others. \nPast Student Concerts have included violinists as young as five and up to high school-aged students\, as well as brass and wind students\, contemporary guitar students\, and adult bassoon and vocal students. \nThis concert is free for all audience members. \nRegistrations for our Term 4 Student Concerts – https://forms.gle/osUwuHbRvxWUDLVu6
