Violin Teacher, Music Therapist
Emma studied violin with Dr Evgeny Sorkin at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (University of Sydney) where she graduated with a Master of Music Studies (Performance) and Bachelor of Music (Performance) achieving a High Distinction in her violin studies. While at university, she studied string pedagogy with Professor Goetz Richter, and she held a music scholarship at St Andrew’s College (University of Sydney) where she was elected student representative for music.
Emma also holds a Master of Music Therapy from the University of Melbourne. She has worked as a Registered Music Therapist in hospitals, aged care facilities, special education, early childhood intervention programs, community disability groups, and private practice. She has also completed a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and loves working with children of all ages to nurture a love of music while providing a strong technical foundation.
