E-Yang studied Composition at the University of Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where he developed an interest in conducting and teaching. He studied phrase style conducting through the Australian Band and Orchestra Directors Association (ABODA) Professional Development course with its maestro, Jerry Nowak, eventually becoming an instructor on the course. E-Yang has worked under a number of respected directors from whom he has learned much about music direction in the fields of Symphony Orchestras, Symphonic Wind Ensembles, Brass Banding and Big Bands, performing with ensembles within the Central Coast Conservatorium and in the community of the Central Coast and Sydney.
E-Yang has performed with the likes of Sydney Conservatorium of Music Symphonic Wind Ensemble, City of Sydney Wind Ensemble, University of New South Wales Wind Ensemble, The Occasionally Performing Symphony Orchestra (TOPS), Sydney Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and the News South Wales Detachment of the Royal Australian NAVY Band amongst many others.
He currently plays with Symphony Central Coast, Central Coast Brass and the Band of the University of New South Wales Regiment while striving to constantly expand his skills in music direction.
