Meldi Arkinstall has enjoyed a varied career, having completed a Master of Music Degree on a Fulbright Scholarship at Indiana University with former Principal Flute of the Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam as her flute teacher.
As a flautist Meldi has worked with the Sydney Symphony, Australian Chamber Orchestra and Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, and in the US she won a position in the Spoleto Festival Orchestra in Charleston, South Carolina for two seasons. She also worked as a casual flute and piccolo player in the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra and Columbus Symphony, and worked full time in the chamber music group, Tales & Scales, which toured all over the United States, performing as soloist with the St Louis Symphony, Kansas City Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony and Columbus Symphony Orchestras.
Meldi has also worked as a journalist, reviewing concerts for The Daily Telegraph and writing CD reviews for The Australian.
