Central Coast Youth Orchestra

The Central Coast Youth Orchestra (CCYO), our leading ensemble is renowned in the community for its exceptional level of musicianship and captivating performances. This orchestra plays a wide range of professional orchestral repertoire including symphonic standards and new contemporary works. The CCYO program develops the skill sets required of student orchestral musicians to perform in this genre. Many CCYO musicians go on to study music at a tertiary level as well as being involved with programs such as the Regional Youth Orchestra NSW.

Tuesdays 4.45 - 6.30 pm. Start on Tuesday 9 February 2021

The Conservatorium is offering video audition for our 2021 Central Coast Youth Orchestra. Register for an audition here
Video auditions are due Friday 29 January 2021.
Audition Requirements
Students are require to play one scale and 1 or 2 piece of music of their choice that demonstrates their current playing level and skills.
The length of the video audition is limited to 5 minutes.
Young musician interested in joining CCYO are invited to apply to Conductor, Artistic Director Patrick Brennan.
YOUTH ORCHESTRA Pre-requisites & Audition Requirements:
Pre-requisites
Woodwind: Min. AMEB 6 or equivalent
Brass: Min. AMEB 6 or equivalent
Percussion: Orchestral or Symphonic Wind Ensemble experience
Upper String: Min. AMEB 6 or equivalent
Lower String: Min. AMEB 5 or equivalent
Conducting and Teaching Music Program
Members of the Central Coast Youth Orchestra are eligible to join our exciting new Conducting and Teaching Music Program. The Program offers developing young musicians the opportunity to extend their orchestral music education in conducting and musical pedagogy. It provides essential skills and knowledge to help students develop as a musician, teacher, and conductor.
