Woodwind Ensembles Play Day & Masterclass with Sally Walker

The Central Coast Conservatorium of Music is thrilled to present Woodwind Group Ensemble Play Sessions and Masterclass with Sally Walker on the Central Coast.

Few if any Australian flutists can boast the international career enjoyed by Sally Walker.
The regular Guest Principal Flute with the Australian Chamber Orchestra has worked extensively as an orchestral musician and as a soloist in Europe and has been a prize winner in several major international competitions, including the Friedrich Kuhlau International Flute Competition in Germany where she placed second, and the Leonardo de Lorenzo International Flute Competition in Italy, where she was a grand finalist.

All participants will have the opportunity to play in a group ensemble for 90 minutes conducted by well-respected conductor and Central Coast woodwind teacher Diane Gardner. Five selected woodwind players will have the opportunity to play in a Masterclass where Sally will provide expert instruction.

Sally plays in the Omega Ensemble and orchestras she has worked in include the Berlin Philharmonic and Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestras, Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss, Kölner Kammerorchester, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, NDR Radio Philharmonie Hannover, Kammerakademie Potsdam, Manchester Camerata and Queensland Symphony Orchestra.

Having recently accepted the position of Lecturer in Classical Woodwind at the Australian National University, Sally was a Lecturer in Flute at The University of Newcastle for 12 years. Click here to read  more about Sally.
