The Central Coast Conservatorium of Music Ltd (CCCM) is the principal provider of music education on the NSW Central Coast. Based in one of the fastest-growing regions of New South Wales, CCCM delivers more than 400 hours of music tuition per week to close to 1,000 students of all ages.

Located in the CBD of Gosford in a recently refurbished historic building overlooking Brisbane Water we are funded by lesson fees, sponsorship, and donations, with additional funding from the NSW Government.

We have more than 50 teachers on staff who deliver private and group lessons to our students with ensembles that feed the regional symphony, choirs and bands.  Our alumni have gone on to national and international careers.

Do you love inspiring students with music? Are you passionate about creating joyful, engaging learning experiences? We’re looking for enthusiastic and reliable woodwind instrumental teachers and band conductors to join our growing Schools Program across the Central Coast.

About the Program

Our Schools Program brings music directly into primary schools across the Central Coast, giving children the opportunity to learn an instrument and play in a band.

With over 500 students across 15 schools, the program is a vibrant entry point into music education. Many of our students go on to perform in our premier ensembles, including wind orchestras and youth orchestra pathways.

We focus on:

  • Building confidence through music
  • Creating a fun, inclusive learning environment
  • Developing strong foundational skills in instrumental playing and ensemble work

The Role

As a Schools Program Teacher and Band Conductor, you will:

  • Conduct Band Rehearsals for Training or Concert Bands (before school)
  • Deliver small group instrumental tutorials during school hours, with some one-to-one lessons for accelerated learning
  • Support students as they begin their musical journey (Year 3+)
  • Work collaboratively with fellow conductors and teachers
  • Contribute to a positive, engaging and student-focused culture
  • Help prepare students for performances at school and community events

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking teachers who are:

  • Skilled on woodwind instruments: flute, saxophone, and clarinet.
  • Bachelor of Music or relevant professional experience
  • Conducting experience preferred
  • Current Working With Children number
  • Passionate about music education and working with children
  • Warm, encouraging, and able to build rapport quickly
  • Reliable, organised, and able to work across multiple school sites
  • Experience in teaching beginners (preferred, but not essential)
  • Have an understanding of classroom management techniques and be open to ongoing professional development
