The Central Coast Concert Band will be joined by special guests from the Conservatorium Central Coast Senior Wind Ensemble, members from the Northern Sydney Symphonic Wind Ensemble and some local musicians for this exploration into the complex sounds that inspire true harmony. Featuring Frank Ticheli’s Blue Shades. It features a prominent clarinet solo reminiscent of Benny Goodman, “wailing” brass, and explores various musical “shades” from bright to dark and dirty, the shades of blue. We present to you a major symphonic work from the Concert Band Repertoire combined with our special guests for a truly magical music afternoon.
