About the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music
The Central Coast Con is the principal provider of music education on the NSW Central Coast, with a footprint that includes band programs in 15 schools and individual weekly lessons to more than 350 students. A range of primary and all-age ensembles feed into the regional and state symphony, orchestras, choirs and bands, ensuring students enjoy exceptional levels of access to a range of performance opportunities and experiences. Alumni have gone on to national and international careers.
As a large Not For Profit organisation, the Central Coast Con enjoys Deductible Gift Recipient status and is funded through lesson fees, sponsorship, donations and a triennial grant from the NSW Government for the schools’ program. It has a fulltime CEO, Artistic Director and Schools Program manager and a small core administrative staff plus more than 40 casual teachers.
The Central Coast Con turned 40 in 2023, and the following year took the significant step of becoming a company limited by guarantee. It is seeking to expand and refresh its positioning and teaching repertoire to cement its place on the NSW Central Coast as the preferred option for any child seeking a quality music education.
