Instrument sale! This opportunity will be music to your ears

We are having a spring clean of our instrument store and in 2025 will be streamlining our instrument hire service. As a result, we are in the process of retiring some of our instruments and from next year will be outsourcing the hire of our flutes, clarinets, saxophones, trumpets as well as trombones and baritones.

We’re giving YOU first dibs on taking one of these top-notch instruments home. We would like to offer all Central Coast Conservatorium of Music students the opportunity to purchase their quality hire instruments at a one-off sale price. All these instruments must go! 

We are offering all current students who hire instruments the first opportunity to buy their flutes, clarinets, saxophones, trumpets, trombones and baritones at an average second-hand market price. 

These instruments are of good quality and will enable students to continue to practice at home and excel in their musical endeavours. They would also make a fantastic Christmas gift or birthday presents. Perhaps you know of someone else looking to buy their own musical instrument?

When does the instrument sale end?

This one-off offer is valid until Friday 15 November 2024. 

If you do decide to purchase one of our ex-hire instruments: You will be issued with an invoice for your instrument in Week 8 (2 December) and the full amount will be due and payable by the start of Week 10 (16 December). See Pricing guidelines below.

Once you have decided which option to choose, we kindly ask that you return your hired instrument (flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone or baritone) to Central Coast Conservatorium of Music by Friday 20 December (the last day of the school term).

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are you not hiring flutes, clarinets, trumpets and saxophones in 2025?

We are streamlining our in-house Instrument Hire service and redirecting the associated costs of hiring out the more popular  nstruments (instrument maintenance, storage, administration) towards the purchase of newer, larger instruments. From 2025 will be outsourcing the hire of the following instruments: flutes, clarinets, saxophones, trumpets, trombones and baritones. 

How much will my pre-loved instrument cost to buy?

If you decide to buy one of our ex-hire instruments, you will be purchasing a good quality instrument for around half its market value. All our ex-hire instruments will be valued individually, based on the instrument’s model, condition and age. Most families will have received an email notifying them of the sale price of their child’s current hire instrument. As a guide, the Central Coast Conservatorium student price for the hire instruments will start at:

  • Flutes – from $150
  • Clarinets – from $300
  • Trumpets – from $450
  • Saxophones – from $800
  • Trombones – from $660
  • Baritones – from $770

What quality are the CCCM ex-hire instruments?

All our current flutes, clarinets, trumpets, baritone horns, trombones and saxophones which have been hired out to students are good quality and are sold as is.



How do I purchase my instrument?

Simply fill in this FORM expressing your wish to purchase an instrument and follow the instructions, including uploading photos of your hire instrument. You will be issued with an invoice for your instrument in Week 8 (2 December) and the full amount will be due and payable by the start of Week 10 (16 December). 





Can I buy more than one instrument?

Yes. We will be giving first preference to current CCCM students. If you do wish to purchase more than one instrument, please indicate this on the form.

Do I need to buy the instrument I have been hiring or can I choose a different model/instrument?

All Schools Program instruments currently out for hire, including your child’s should be in good working condition. While we cannot guarantee another model or instrument will be available, if you would like to enquire about purchasing a different instrument please indicate this on the form.

Is there a refund policy?

All these second-hand ex-hire instruments will be sold in their current condition. However your instrument purchase will be covered by a 7-day warranty. Returns and exchanges will not be accepted for your second hand instrument beyond 7 days after your purchase.
