Do you want a free Keyboard Club lesson? Central Coast Conservatorium Keyboard Club is growing! With three new keyboard teachers and classes we now have a total of 12 Keyboard Club classes running every week for ages five and over and students can trial the first Keyboard Club lesson free.

Music teachers Matthew Ardern, Melissa Lark and Kayoko Minglis will be joining Aaron Carey in teaching across the 12 sessions which are on Monday to Thursday after school and Saturday mornings in our state-of-the-art Keyboard Lab.

“Due to the huge success of our Keyboard Club last year, we are delighted to welcome onboard our new Keyboard Club teachers and to be able to offer this fun, group class to even more students,” said Central Coast Conservatorium of Music Head of Piano, Carl Schmidt.

Melissa brings a wealth of experience to Keyboard Club, as an early childhood music educator and one of the CCCM’s Children’s Music Program teachers. Kayoko is a registered music therapist and sound healing practitioner and has experience working with a range of clients. Pianist Matthew Ardern was a finalist in the Symphony Central Coast Prodigies Concerto Competition.

About Keyboard Club

This exciting program provides students with the opportunity to build a fantastic knowledge base of musical techniques that will assist them not only with keyboard playing, but any other instruments they choose in the future.

Additionally, research has found that the skills required to play the keyboard:

  • sharpen fine motor skills,
  • improve hand-eye coordination,
  • boosts cognitive and intellectual abilities,
  • improves memory,
  • increases spatial-temporal ability (which figures heavily in math and science), and
  • can even make structural changes to the brain that stay with you for the rest of your life, making your brain more efficient both while playing and in extra-musical endeavours.
