What’s On
PHOENIX COLLECTIVE QUARTET
They’re back (from a brief maternity break for Ella) and ready to deliver an epic saga of turmoil, tension, destruction and death in Tales of War.
The performance poses the question of why humans have turns to war, when the outcome is so bleak?
This powerful program explores sadness, greed, human nature, mother-nature, fascism, freedom and the enduring human spirit through the String Quartet compositions of Shoskakovich, Barber (aka Adagio for Strings) and Joe Hisaishi’s Princess Mononoke (Studio Ghibli).
Performance times:
25th June, Canberra: 6pm and 7:30pm, Wesley Music Centre
26th June, Central Coast: 2:30pm, Greenway Chapel
27th June, Sydney CBD: 2:30pm, Christ Church St. Laurence

PHOENIX COLLECTIVE TANGO
Announcing the return of Phoenix Collective Tango with Maggie Ferguson (OzTango), PCQ, Dan Russell & Dr Edward Neeman (Juilliard/ ANU) and super star Jacqueline Dark (Helpmann Award winning internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano, principal with Opera Australia and cabaret artist). Also worth noting, two new Sydney venues on the bill, Christ Church St Laurence and Mosman Art Gallery plus two new concert series: eight lunchtime concerts at the wonderful Wayside Chapel, Kings Cross and four concerts at Tattersalls Club, Sydney.
PHOENIX COLLECTIVE SESSIONS @ Wayside Chapel
A fresh and informal lunchtime concert series for the people of Potts Point/ Kings Cross and surrounding suburbs. Set at the iconic Wayside Chapel, the concerts are primarily targeted at people who have never experienced live classical music or don’t have the means to. Wayside Chapel supports vulnerable members of the community and mental health projects. These concerts would be open to people of all walks of life and we will play music that is all-inclusive, integrating and focused on bringing people together.
Though these concerts are the initiative of Artistic Director, Dan Russell, they have been made possible and funded by Judith Neilson AM (White Rabbit / Phoenix Central Park) and we are very thankful.
