2025 Bendigo Bank Schools Scholarships

What is the Bendigo Bank Schools Scholarship?

Central Coast Conservatorium of Music is pleased to announce our 2025 Bendigo Bank Schools Scholarship. The scholarship, made possible with the generous donation of $18,000 from the Bendigo Bank, Community Bank Branches, East Gosford, Lisarow and Kincumber is for enthusiastic students currently enrolled in our Schools Program.

The Bendigo Bank Schools Scholarships are set for one year starting in 2025 with students receiving approximately $900 per student in fee relief over one year.

This program involves engagement in a combination of 1 to 1 lessons, Musicianship classes and Conservatorium ensembles such as the Symphonic Wind Orchestra (High School) or Primary Wind Ensemble.

This comprehensive approach to learning offers what we believe is the optimal instrumental music education available on the Central Coast, giving your child the very best chance to excel as a student musician whilst engaging socially with other like minded individuals.

Who can apply?

The Bendigo Bank Schools Scholarship is for enthusiastic students currently enrolled in our Schools Programs.

Students who will be in Years 5-7 in 2025 are invited to apply for these scholarships. Entry is via an online audition and application process. The scholarship is not available for students enrolled at Central Coast Conservatorium of Music in 1 to 1 lessons.

How does the Bendigo Bank Schools Scholarship work?

The 2025 Bendigo Bank Schools Scholarship program involves engagement in a combination of 1 to 1 lessons, musicianship classes and Conservatorium ensembles such as the Symphonic Wind Orchestra (High School) and Primary Wind Ensemble.

Students must stay in the Schools Program for the duration of the Scholarship but can elect to not participate in their band group tutorials if they are enrolled in 1 to 1 lessons instead.

As part of the Scholarship program it is expected that recipients will enrol in the following for 2025:

  • 1 to 1 lessons on their instrument
  • Musicianship class at the appropriate level
  • At least one Conservatorium ensemble

This ensures the best music education outcomes for recipients.

Applications will not be accepted if fees are overdue (unless a Payment Plan Agreement is in place and instalments are up to date).

How to apply

Applications are now open until SUNDAY 10 NOVEMBER.

Applicants are required to complete the online application form and upload their audition video in the link provided on the form.

Percussion students will need to perform 2 rudiments and one piece.

Winners of the scholarship will be contacted to discuss suitable one to one lesson days and times, ensemble membership and musicianship class timetable.

More information about the program

One to one lessons

The core of the Conservatorium program is educating students through 1 to 1 lessons with our expert teachers. Most students commence 1 to 1 lessons for 30 minutes a week. These lessons allow students to gain a thorough knowledge of their instrument and accelerate their learning much faster than group tutorials that a majority of students receive in their schools. The Conservatorium has high quality and experienced teachers on every band and string instrument as well as guitar, piano and vocals.

Musicianship

Musicianship classes are designed to examine the building blocks of music and improve students’ understanding of how music works. It also improves their music reading skills, ear training (listening skills) and even works on basic composition in music. Musicianship accelerates a student’s ability to progress on their instrument.

Ensembles

The Conservatorium has a large number of different ensembles for students to participate in. Primary Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Wind Orchestra (high school students) both take place on Wednesday afternoons at Gosford Presbyterian Church in West Gosford.
