After 18 incredible years, Ashley Turner is stepping away from teaching at the Con. Ash has been our Jazz and bass teacher since 2008, when he moved to the Central Coast from Sydney with his wife. Over that time, he shared his talent and knowledge generously with students, helping shape the musicians and people they’ve become.
This year, Ash completed his Master of Teaching. As a result, he has begun a new chapter as a secondary classroom music teacher on the Central Coast. He is now fully immersed in school teaching, a wonderful next step, and a testament to the dedication he has always shown to music education.
Ash’s students remain in great hands with Gerard Masters and Matt Lamb, who have been covering his teaching since Term 1, continuing on indefinitely. Gerard leads the Jazz ensemble, while Matt takes on the bass students. You can read more about our full teaching team on our teachers page.
Ashley’s contributions have left a lasting mark on our community. We are proud to have had him as part of our team for nearly two decades. Furthermore, we know he will be a huge asset to the schools and students he works with now.
We wish Ash all the very best in this exciting new chapter. Thank you for everything Ash.
