Making music isn’t just for students—Central Coast adult ensembles provide a rewarding way to stay connected to music, meet like-minded people, and begin or continue developing your skills. Whether you’re returning to your instrument after a break or looking for a new challenge, joining an ensemble offers the chance to make music in a supportive and social environment. From orchestras to bands, our ensembles provide performance opportunities, musical growth, and a sense of community for musicians of all levels.
Conspirito Community Flute Ensemble
Conspirito Community Flute Ensemble is a friendly and relaxed group of amateur adult flute enthusiasts of all ages who come together to share their love of music.
Current members range in ability from approximately AMEB Grade 2 up to tertiary qualified musicians, with music selected to satisfy more experienced members whilst having parts that are achievable for less experienced players.
The repertoire ranges across all styles and genres. We currently have members who play piccolo, concert flute, alto, bass and contrabass flute.

Recorder Ensemble
Central Coast Conservatorium Recorder Ensemble run by one of Australia’s leading recorder players, Joanne Arnott.
Early music specialist and Central Coast Con teacher Joanne will be taking the fortnightly Recorder Ensemble on alternate Tuesday morning, 9am-10am in Robert Knox Hall.
The group will be playing mostly period music from the medieval, renaissance and baroque periods with some technical work and improvisation.
The group is open to anyone aged 16 and over with at least a year’s recorder playing experience (descant, treble, tenor or bass). Participants must have their own recorder.
Rehearsals: Tuesdays 9am-10am (fortnightly)
Steve Smillie Guitar Ensemble
This Guitar Ensemble comprises guitarists on acoustic, electric and bass guitars who enjoy exploring music from a range of genres. The ensemble provides students with the opportunity to further develop sight-reading, improvisation, ensemble and rhythm section skills. Reading needs to be at least Grade 2 or 3 up to fret 12, although sight reading skills will be developed in rehearsals.
Rehearsals: Thursdays 7.00pm to 8.00pm
Community Ensembles
Central Coast Philharmonia Choir
The Central Coast Philharmonia Choir is a welcoming and vibrant adult choir affiliated with the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music.
Conducted by our Artistic Director, Patrick Brennan, the choir performs a diverse repertoire throughout the year, from classical choral masterpieces to contemporary works, often accompanied by an orchestra.
Rehearsals are held on Monday nights from 7:30–9:30 PM at Evergreen Life Care Auditorium, West Gosford. If you love to sing, can hold a tune, and want to be part of a passionate vocal ensemble, new members are always welcome! Learn more.
Central Coast Concert Band
The Central Coast Concert Band (CCCB) is a long-standing and respected ensemble affiliated with the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music.
Conducted by our Artistic Director, Patrick Brennan, the band performs two to three concerts per year and showcases a diverse range of wind band music, from classical and jazz to film scores and contemporary pieces. CCCB fosters a welcoming environment for both experienced and developing musicians, providing opportunities to improve skills, make connections, and share music with the local community.
