Playing with others is an important part of learning music. The Central Coast Conservatorium of Music Premier Ensembles program brings together talented young musicians and singers from across the region to create, perform and grow through music. The program includes three wind ensembles, our flagship Central Coast Youth Orchestra and both Children’s and Youth Choirs.
These audition-based extension programs are designed for motivated young performers who are ready to take their musicianship to the next level. Students will enjoy performance opportunities both on the Central Coast and beyond, while developing their skills under the guidance of experienced conductors and educators.
The four Primary Ensembles all rehearse at Gosford Presbyterian Church in West Gosford after school.

Led by experienced conductors and music educators Patrick Brennan, Kevin Smith, Dr Phillip Rutherford and E-Yang Liu, the Premier Ensembles pathway is a pillar of Central Coast Conservatorium’s performance program, providing students with excellent extension and development in their musical understanding and performing.
Being in an ensemble is more than just making music; it’s about teamwork, growth and connection. Our ensembles provide young musicians with the opportunity to develop essential skills such as collaboration, confidence, and musicality in a supportive environment.
Along the way, students build lasting friendships, refine their craft and gain valuable experience that will serve them for wherever their musical journey leads, whether as professional musicians, educators or lifelong performers in their community.
