School Program bands take to stage at Central Coast Band Fest

  • Post category:Latest News

Congratulations to all the Schools Program band musicians who took part in the 2023 Central Coast Band Festival at Narara Valley Baptist Church, which involved three epic concerts, 23 school bands, hundreds of audience members and lots of happy faces

Thank you to all the students, teachers, conductors, families and supporters who came along to Narara Valley Baptist Church to watch our fabulous school training bands and concert bands perform. Hats off also to our guest bands, Central Coast Concert Band and the Central Coast Primary Wind Ensemble, and adjudicator Rowan McBride.

“The day was a huge success and it was fantastic to see so many of our young Schools Band participants enjoying themselves and being given the opportunity to perform with their friends in front of a large, appreciative audience,” said Central Coast Conservatorium CEO Lisa Barnes.

Rowan said he was blown away by the standard of performances on the day, which ranged from smaller training bands to large concert bands. All bands were awarded either a Gold, Silver or Bronze certificate.

Our Schools Program currently runs in more than 25 schools across the Central Coast and offers 1-1 or small group lessons, whole band rehearsals with Conservatorium conductors and performance opportunities at school and external events.

The School Band Program is an entry level band program designed to give primary school students the opportunity to learn an instrument of their choice and to participate in their school band.

Many of our School Band Program students have progressed from playing in their School Band to playing in the Central Coast Conservatorium’s Premier Ensembles – from our Primary Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Wind Orchestra to the Central Coast Youth Orchestra.
