Central Coast Conservatorium is taking registrations for its inaugural Coastal Soundwaves Music Camp, a three-day immersive camp and workshop experience for school-age musicians from 22 to 24 April.
Hosted by the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music and proudly sponsored by Central Coast Council, this camp focuses on ensemble music-making while offering students unique opportunities for musical growth.
The camp is open to school-age musicians in Years 5 and over and will feature two ensembles:
Soundwaves Primary Wind Ensemble
- For Year 5 to 6 students
- Students must be AMEB Grade 1 or equivalent or have at least one year of experience in their school band
- Conductor: Phillip Rutherford
Soundwaves Junior Wind Ensemble
- For Year 7 students and over
- Students must be AMEB Grade 2-4 or equivalent or have played with their school band for 2+ years
- Conductor: Kevin Smith
“The camp aims to provide an enriching and enjoyable ensemble experience, helping students enhance their performance and collaboration skills while fostering new connections. Each day, participants will engage in rehearsals and sectional tutorials with guidance from some of NSW’s finest instrumental music teachers and conductors,” said Central Coast Conservatorium CEO, Dr Lisa Barnes.

Time: 9am – 4pm (early drop-off available from 8:30am)
Concert: 4:30pm, Thursday 24 April
Where: Gosford Presbyterian Church, 14 Young Street, West Gosford
Cost: $75 per child

Note: Students currently or recently enrolled in the Central Coast Conservatorium’s PWE, JWE, or Schools Program Concert/Chapman Bands are automatically eligible to participate but must register.
