Volunteering

Have you ever wanted to be a part of the behind-the-scenes fun that goes into creating the magic that we produce at the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music? Then why not volunteer as part of our volunteering program? Volunteering is one of the easiest and most rewarding ways to support Central Coast Con and, we are always on the look out for enthusiastic parents and community members to lend a hand. That might mean ushering at a concert or helping out as a stage hand. Volunteers also help on open day and even do a bit of gardening!

Did you know Central Coast Conservatorium of Music is a registered not-for-profit organisation? We are funded by lesson fees, sponsorship and donations, with additional funding from the NSW Government. The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) has developed the Tick of Charity Registration (the Registered Charity Tick) for registered charities to show the public that they are registered with the ACNC.  The Registered Charity Tick aims to give reassurance to the public that registered charities are transparent and accountable by highlighting their presence on the ACNC Charity Register.  Please click here for the ACNC registration details of the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music.

How you can help

At the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music, volunteers can play various important roles in supporting its music programs and community outreach efforts. Some potential volunteer responsibilities may include:

Event Assistance

Helping organise and run concerts, student recitals, and special performances. Volunteers might assist with ticket sales, ushering, and event setup/cleanup and student supervision.

Library and Archival Support

Assisting in the maintenance and cataloguing of the Conservatorium’s library, which houses a collection of sheet music and other resources. Volunteers could help in cataloguing materials, organising archives, and managing music scores for students and staff.

Fundraising Support

Assisting in fundraising campaigns, such as organising donation drives, promoting sponsorship opportunities, or helping with events aimed at generating financial support for music scholarships and programs.

Garden and Grounds Maintenance

Assisting in maintaining existing grounds and creating new spaces that currently have little or no garden planning. Creation of new front gardens would assist the Conservatorium to have a nicer feel and look and invite more students to attend classes. There are also lawns to be mowed on a regular basis and weeds to be controlled.

Transport of Instruments

At often times we need to transport music stands and large instruments to concerts. We currently hire a van and any assistance in driving, loading and unloading the van would be helpful.

Instrument Maintenance

We currently have a hire instrument business, it would be helpful if suitably experienced musicians were able to help in the repair and maintenance of our current instruments as well as the cataloguing of instruments in the instrument room.

Historic tours of the Con

We currently give tours to engage with the community regarding our historic building and Conservatorium history. It would be nice to have community tours once a week with a complimentary tea and coffee afterwards.
