Robin De Haas Breathing Coordination Workshop + Masterclass

Join world renowned Swiss breath coordination and vocal coach Robin de Haas for this breathing coordination masterclass and workshop at Central Coast Conservatorium of Music’s Robert Knox Hall on Thursday 30 November.
Suitable for vocalists and vocal coaches, leading vocal expert Robin will host a workshop to help vocalists and instrumentalist find out how to optimise their performances. The workshop will be followed by a masterclass, with selected vocal students, which will also be open to observers.
Robin’s sessions will provide insight and advice on MDH Breathing Coordination, a bodywork method aimed at helping singers, musicians and actors learn more about breathing and voice.
The method is based on functional anatomy and offers guidance to performers on breathing potential and developing tools for better vocal technique and performance.
Central Coast Conservatorium vocal teacher Michaele Archer studied with Robin in Europe and is proud to be a qualified MDG Breathing Coordination practitioner and offers sessions from the Con’s campus in Gosford. She said:
“I am thrilled to welcome Robin to the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music. His workshop will be a must-attend for any singers wanting to get a better understanding of the factors impacting singing and how this knowledge can improve a performance.”
Robin will also be available to teach 1 to 1 classes at the Conservatorium from Wednesday 29 November to Friday 1 December. Cost: $190, limited availability.
About Robin
Born in Switzerland, Robin De Haas is a prize-winner in both singing and academics. When he began his singing studies, he immediately obtained a scholarship and perfected his skills with several teachers in Europe and the United States.
Attracted by the pedagogy, he started the “Diploma of teaching of singing” at the Haute École de musique de Lausanne, which he finished with a prize for his diploma work “Lyric singing versus modern singing, two worlds that everything opposes?”
It was during his research for the methodology and pedagogy modules that he met Lynn Martin, professor of Breathing Coordination and Functional Anatomy at NYU (New York University) and various professors specialised in vocal technique for both modern music and lyrical singing.These encounters were the beginning of a fruitful collaboration aimed at releasing accessory tensions and realizing vocal and artistic potential.Robin is regularly invited to teach at numerous art schools, including the Sarah Lawrence College of Arts, the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, and the Manhattan School of Music.In 2022, the film « The Path of the Voice” is released in Switzerland and around the world. The film tells the story of Robin’s life and career.
