Congratulations to all the students who participated in the scholarship auditions for  the CCCM Competitive Scholarship auditions held on Saturday 29 October at Greenway Chapel, Green Point. 

Each year the Central Coast Conservatorium supports students through its competitive and non-competitive scholarship programs. These programs, funded by the Conservatorium, are bolstered through the generosity of donors, supporters and sponsors from our community.

The Competitive Scholarships are awarded to highlight students with excellent potential and talent as well as to encourage further study and achievement at the Central Coast Conservatorium.

“The adjudicators enjoyed a day-long rolling concert that showcased talented CCCM students from all over the Central Coast,” said Central Coast Conservatorium of Music Artistic Director, Patrick Brennan. “The decision making was tough but after much deliberation we are delighted to offer a number of students significant scholarships as well as sending others through to two scholarship finals.” 

Kaito Deed was named the CCCM Senior Instrumental Winner (worth $1,000) while trumpet player Jaden Bridgland was named CCCM Senior Instrumental Finalist ($750). Kaito and Jaden have also been named finalists in the Allen Family Senior Scholarships and Pearl Beach Association Concert Finals.

The CCCM Junior Instrumental Winner was cellist Krys Cox. She also won one of three Allen Family Junior Encouragement Awards worth $500 each alongside Onyu Grace Lee (flute) and Ehryn Bala (voice).

The CCCM Junior Instrumental finalists, who are each awarded $500, were saxophonist Monika Sydenham and cellist Daniel Zhang.

Highly Commended students are:  Anya Sandeman (trombone), Mitchell Frith (french horn) Xavier Cardozo (bassoon) Caitlin Swadel (flute), Emily Robertson (piano), Grace Moura Atkins (flute and piano), Matthew Bai (piano) Samuel Conroy-Liddle (trumpet).

Allen Family Scholarship Finalists

Five students were chosen as finalists for the Allen Family Scholarship. Kaito and Jaden will join Elana Sydenham (flute), Emma Deed (flute) and Minjy Lee (violin) in the finals on 27 November at Greenway Chapel which will be held as part of the Supporters’ Concert.

Pearl Beach Association Concert Finalists

Kaito and Jaden will be joined by violinist Minjy Lee, flautists Emma Deed and Elana Sydenham and bassoon player Xavier Cardozo in the finals which will be held in May 2023.
