Update: Programs and Online Delivery

Today, as you may know, the NSW Premier announced that Greater Sydney will remain in lockdown into the first week of term 3.

As always, our priority remains the health and wellbeing of our students and staff. In order to provide continuity of learning for our students, the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music will temporarily be moving some programs to online learning in week 1 of term 3.

Resuming online week 1, Term 3  (Monday 12 July)

One-to-one lessons will resume online via Zoom. Your teacher will contact you with a link for your scheduled lessons. Alternatively, on mutual agreement some students and teachers may prefer to do make-up lessons face to face later in the term. You can discuss these arrangements directly with your teacher.

Musicianship classes will resume online via Zoom at their scheduled times.

The Schools Program will resume online via Zoom. Our program and scheduling will be amended to ensure that students have a great experience, until we can return to face-to-face delivery. Further information will be sent in a separate email to our schools program families.

Saturday Strings will resume on Saturday 17 July. Depending on the situation next week, these classes may be able to be held in person. We will be able to confirm this later next week.

Many of you experienced online lessons previously and we are confident that these platforms will allow us to continue providing excellent outcomes for our students until we resume face to face lessons.

Planned return in week 2, Term 3 (Monday 19 July)

Government restrictions permitting, we plan to safely resume the following activities in week 2:

Children’s Music Program – classes will resume Monday 19 July, with 9 weeks of delivery.

Keyboard Club – classes commence Tuesday 20 July, with 9 week of delivery.

Small Ensembles – will resume in week 2 at their scheduled times.
This includes:
  • Guitar Ensemble with Steve Smile
  • Classical Guitar Ensemble with Guy Strazz
  • Jazz Ensemble with Ashley Turner
  • Adult Strings Ensemble with Heather Hinrichs
  • Conspirito Ensemble
  • Recorder Ensemble
Premier Ensembles including:
  • Central Coast Youth Orchestra (CCCYO)
  • Primary Wind Ensemble (PWI)
  • Symphonic Wind Orchestra (SWO)
We plan to resume rehearsals in Week 2 (w/c Monday 19 July). Due to the instrument groups and large number of students involved in these ensembles, we may need to instigate alternate forms of delivery beyond week 2. We will ensure that we are able to deliver the appropriate number of sessions during the term to ensure continuity of learning and development for all students involved.

Appropriate physical distancing and safety will be ensured for all our programs once they recommence. Should we find that we need to start these programs any later than anticipated, we will ensure that we deliver the guaranteed number of weeks throughout the term.

Next week, our campus will remain closed with no students onsite until the lockdown is eased.

Thank you for your continued support, patience and understanding as we continue to monitor the changing advice from the NSW Government and health officials.  We know that the decisions we make impact our CCCM community and promise to inform you as quickly as possible of all changes as they occur. Term 3 Invoices will be sent out shortly.
